MGEN APPOINTS COMPUTER INDUSTRY VETERAN JONATHAN GORDON AS PRESIDENT AND CEO

-- Gordon to Drive Company's Continued Growth and Expansion; Retain Focus on Meeting Government Market Needs for Training and Learning Management Solutions --

Foxborough, MA - September 29, 2003 - mGen, Inc., a leading provider of learning and training software solutions, today announced that Jonathan Gordon is joining the Company as president and chief executive officer.

mGen has appointed Gordon to drive continued penetration in the government and commercial markets, focus on new business opportunities and expand relationships with existing customers to further enhance the Company's strong sales and market presence. Gordon replaces mGen's former CEO and president, Jack Battersby, who left the Company earlier this month.

"Jonathan is an extremely effective and experienced leader with a proven track record of success in growing technology companies," said Scot Peterson, founder and chief technology officer at mGen. "We intend to draw upon his vast international sales and marketing experience to position the Company for continued growth and expansion."

Gordon has had a distinguished career in the technology industry. He comes to mGen with more than 30 years of experience with hardware and software technology companies, building sales organizations, marketing strategies and global expansion programs for several companies including Phoenix Technologies, Ltd and Graphic Software Systems.

Most recently, Gordon was CEO and founder of EndPoints, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company whose chips power high volume, low cost consumer digital cameras. Gordon also served as president of DiagSoft, a PC hardware diagnostic and test company, which under his direction became the market leader for software used in manufacturing personal computers.

Additionally, Gordon served as president of Paterson Labs, where he worked closely with the company's founder, Tim Paterson, author of the MS-DOS operating system. Gordon merged Patterson Labs into Phoenix Technologies, Ltd., best known for its market dominance in BIOS software for personal computers. Gordon also founded the Phoenix Publishing Group within Phoenix Technologies, Ltd.

"Based on the technological strength of mGen Enterprise, its large installed customer base and strong financial position, mGen is uniquely positioned to experience prolific growth in the coming year," said Gordon. "I see a significant opportunity to enable government agencies and corporate organizations to address their key mission challenges through mGen's efficient and cost effective learning management solutions. I look forward to working with the mGen team to capitalize on these strengths to realize the next level of growth objectives for the Company."
