mGen Achieves Challenger Status in
Learning Management System Platforms METASpectrum Market
Evaluation
Plano, TX -
March 10, 2003 - mGen, a leading developer of
distributed knowledge, human capital and learning management
systems, today announced that it has been ranked as
a market challenger in META Group’s recently released
METAspectrumSM for Learning Management System Platforms.
META Group (Nasdaq: METG) is a leading research and
consulting firm that focuses on information technology
and business transformation strategies.
The new METAspectrum evaluation provides
an objective assessment of companies providing learning
management platforms. The evaluation tracks all aspects
of training via various learning modularities. META
segments the learning management system vendors into
4 categories: pure play learning management vendors,
vendors historically anchored on training management,
consulting spin offs and IT platform vendors.
mGen was positioned in the Challenger
segment of the METAspectrum analysis, and was specifically
recognized for the technological strength of its learning
management solution
– mGen Enterprise. mGen’s solution received
the highest ranking – “excellent”
– in the technology section of the performance
evaluation summary. In addition, the Company received
high marks in financial viability, personnel, pricing,
business drivers and agility and customer service.
“Learning management is gaining
increased traction with our clients and is expanding
beyond internal bounds,” said Jennifer Vollmer,
META Group research analyst and author of the report.
“Vendors with robust solutions that can be scaled
to meet partner/customer-centric needs and be customized
for vertical markets, such as the government, are best
poised for success, given the new market demands.”
“We are excited to be included
as a challenger in this report and can attest that the
high marks we received are a direct result of the relationships
we have with our customers,” said Jack Battersby,
CEO and president of mGen. “After posting our
sixth profitable year, we are eager to equip users with
the tools necessary to accomplish organizational goals
better, faster and cheaper, while at the same time,
providing the highest degree of competency possible.
Our solution enables organizations to harness their
intellectual capital and put it back where it’s
most important – its employees.”
mGen Enterprise is an organizational
communications solution that combines learning, knowledge
and human capital management, all delivered through
a Web portal. This integrated software solution enables
companies to distribute knowledge assets, often isolated
in separate applications, and make them available on
a single platform where users can share and distribute
knowledge, information and human capital management
throughout the organization in a seamless environment.
