EDS SELECTS MGEN, INC. TO PROVIDE E-LEARNING TO THE U.S. NAVY AND MARINE CORPS

-- mGen, Inc.'s e-Learning system will deliver training to 360,000 Navy and Marine Corps personnel on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) Program --

Plano, TX - March 26, 2001 - EDS [NYSE: EDS] has awarded mGen, Inc. a three year contract to provide distance learning and training to 360,000 Navy and Marine Corps personnel, as part of their $6.9 billion Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) contract. EDS was awarded the NMCI contract, the largest federal information technology contract in history, in October 2000.

EDS will use the mGen Enterprise learning management technology, which is built on an advanced distributed architecture, to deploy and manage NMCI rich media training assets. By utilizing mGen Enterprise's learning management system as well as its advanced distributed architecture, EDS and the NMCI Information Strike Force team will be able to deploy rich media training assets, in a meaningful way, to hundreds of thousands of Navy and Marine Corps personnel.

During the selection process, EDS evaluated over 50 e-Learning systems and gave their highest technical rating to mGen Enterprise.

The mGen Enterprise is an innovative, dynamic and robust technology that can serve the Department of the Navy's needs today and can scale to meet a variety of their distance learning requirements in the future," said Bill Koziar, Program Manager for NMCI Training. "It allows us to develop a strong technical solution to distributing training across the Intranet and launch a variety of content to NMCI users."

mGen, Inc.'s winning proposal includes the latest in Web and device technology to deploy an NMCI training system that is scalable, easy to use, flexible, feature rich and collaborative in nature.

"Our strategy for NMCI is about the marriage of both hardware and software to build a state of the art learning system, which includes advanced content delivery network technologies and multimedia asset distribution and management," said Jack Battersby, CEO and President of mGen, Inc. "We are thrilled to be partnering with the EDS-led Information Strike Force team to create a training environment for NMCI that expands the notion of a learning system to include the delivery of information where needed, as needed."

The focus of the EDS/Department of the Navy NMCI partnership is to improve the onshore information technology services for DON civilians, sailors and Marines. Through consolidation, enhanced technology and enterprise-wide centralized management, this performance-based contract will increase the quality of service at the 300 Navy and Marine Corps bases throughout the U.S., Iceland, Puerto Rico, Guam, Hawaii and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, while at the same time significantly reducing costs.
